Focusing on FolioEngine

I'm taking a break from the internet iuntil I have a beta build of FolioEngine ready, what exactly does "taking a break" mean. I'm staying off TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. It's that simple for me to focus on delivering an application I need to focus on the application itself. I'm stepping away from the merch store posting for a while too. If you have read my previous blog posts then you will understand why. GradePoint has been an amazing project to work on albiet it has also been very stressful considering everything currently going on in my life. I think a simple Micro-SaaS will do the trick in getting me out of this rut.

The FolioEngine platform will be free to use. There will be a subscription service if you want more of a white-label feeling to it, I'll be charging around $10 a month. I made the decision to put GradePoint on the shelf for now because it is too big of a project to do without funds. Now, with that being said it will take me roughly 6-8 weeks to get FolioEngine built and ready to launch. Where as I have been working on GradePoint for over three months. No, the project isn't going anywhere. I think GradePoint is amazing. I just don't have the time or motivation to pour my soul into something so large when I cannot afford to keep it actively running.

I do have great plans with FolioEngine. I just don't want it be a cash grab. I really want to build it for freelancers, photographers, graphic designers, aand etc. When I get the beta ready I will be reaching out to my founders network. Allow them to populate the site, review it, add their testimonials. Yes, it is a Micro-SaaS. It's something I can build then step away to focus on greater things.

Lately, I have been putting my focus on various things as a founder and it has drained me pretty badly. I mean I started up a merch shop, a YouTube Channel, various other projects. I am afraid I have taken on too many projects and now I need to figure out what to choose. I think a good footing would be to build a few Micro-SaaS starting with FolioEngine. From there I want to build a few more multi-tenant applications.

I really do think if I take a break from everything and focus on one thing I can actually get something done. Creating content while trying to find time to manage everything else has been pretty stressful. I'll still be making blog post, still working on my portfolio. I think focusing on FolioEngine is a start. I mean it's 6-8 weeks. I think it will all get figured out, I just have to start somewhere.

As I bring this post to a close. I will be gone for four days, I have some personal things to take care of, places I need to be. I'm not building these applications because I am motivated. I lost motivation a long time ago. I am building these applications because I want a better life for everyone around me. So maybe I am doing it for motivation, I don't want to be rich myself. I just don't want the people I love to struggle. If you have stuck around for the entire post, thank you. It means a lot. I hope to see you in the next one!
