I think it is time for me to put GradePoint on the shelf as a project for now and focus on some Micro-SaaS development. I am doing this because that is a lot for a solo developer currently. I keep writing down other projects too. I have been workign on a small micro-saas called FolioEngine which I hope to be launching soon. What is FolioEngine? FolioEngine is a multi-tenant portfolio builder. Yes, you heard me. This is for businesses or corporations. This is fo rthe little guys. The freelancers, the photographers, the people who want to showcase their work digitally.
GradePoint, is a massive project I undertook. I really am glad I did. For now though it will just have to wait. I have so much going on currently in my professional/personal life I just cannot keep up with development at this point. Maybe it is because I took too many projects on at once. I'm just at a point where I need to slow down on a lot of things in my life before I crash. Maybe building a small mutli-tenant system will allow me to achieve some progress instead of running face-first into a wall every time.
I'mm be mapping out FolioEngine's UI on paper first, that's where I always love to start. Just sketching a simple idea onto some paper, then I'll build a template. I'll reach out to my founders network, try to get some beta users. Maybe launch within a month or so. The way I see with it, I should be able to build an application that works where I can eventually step away with it and focus on something else. SEO and Marketing is the biggest thing to get over. You can build a great application but if you are not on the front page of a search engine or running promotions on social media then nobody will know it exists.
What I have learned in the past few months...take it one step at a time.
